Lately

We haven't had too much going on lately, but like I've said, April is the most wonderful time of the year, in my opinion, and then Christams, so we've had a great month! We have played outside and enjoyed the weather and our families.
Matt's cousin Tim, his darling wife Amber, and their 3 little kids came to STG to play. We had a BBQ of every type of meat you can imagine and hung around outside all day.

{Instead of enjoying family and the weather, Matt likes to play Angry Birds til the end of time. I HATE this game.}

{Kels, Audrey, Me and Aubree. She doesn't like being inconvenienced for a picture when she's playing.}

I also finished teaching my little dance class this week. I had so much fun! These girls were so cute and did a great job. We had a little show-off for the parents on our last day. I wish I would have taped it- one girl stood there during the dances the entire time, another girl ran up to her mom to make sure she was taking pictures.. Haha that's what made it so fun. They are cute little guys :)

Good times have been had in April!

Road Trip

{Arizona}

It's that time in our life to start thinking about our future and try to find a light at the end of the tunnel.
We went to AZ this past weekend to check out a mechanic school Matt is interested in and it just so happens that one of my best friends in the universe lives there! We had a quick but fun weekend with Garrett and Shelly, who were nice enough to let us stay with them. We left Aubree with my parents and we were so glad we did- She had a blast all weekend and we did a ton of driving so it worked out pretty well.
We went to the school open house Saturday, then met up with Garrett and Shell to hang out. Matt heard about a mall in Scottsdale that supposedly had an amazing water fountain in the middle of the place.. I jumped all over that idea b/c Matt HATES shopping, so for him to suggest a mall...? Awesome. The mall was indeed awesome and huge, but the water feature was just a semi-cool fountain haha- Later, we went to dinner, talked for hours (while the boys watched sports and car shows) and had a great time! Shelly is also pregnant with her first girl (WOO!) so we had a blast talking about babies and our lives and our past lives! We've been through everything, seriously everything, together. It was so good to catch up.
Thanks for letting us stay Messerly fam!

{I was pretty stoked to see the Hoover Dam for the first time.. apparently they just finished building this giant bridge over it, so I didn't see the dam at all and we were too lazy to stop and take a tour, she here is the cool bridge.}

{Matt in front of the "amazing" waterfall. It was neat I guess.}

{We were just happy to be shopping!}

All About Aubree

{15 Months}

-She took her first steps all by herself on April 7th!! She is starting to get brave and try it on her own but she still prefers crawling.
-She says "No" and "Ba" (for ball) and sometimes "Nigh Nigh" (for Night Night). We were in Relief Society one Sunday and the teacher was talking about honesty and asked a question that was similar to "Should we be honest?" and right then Aubree yelled out "NO!" Everyone started cracking up, and then she started laughing.. It was so funny!
She's in size 4 diapers and 18 month clothes.
-Aubree loves chasing the light in our house that comes through the blinds. She yelps and laughs at it!

-She can be such a picker eater sometimes. Some weeks she'll eat so good and other weeks it's rough. Ever since she was born, feeding her has stressed me out. She went from not getting enough from me to me trying to feed her every hour because I was so nervous about her going hungry, so it takes every ounce of patience for me to feed her when all she does is spit her food out (only when I just cleaned the floors, thank you). I'm trying to learn and watch for hunger queues and not freak out if she hasn't eaten a lot that day. She hasn't seemed bothered by it at all, so I guess I should just chill. And she doesn't look like she's starving by any means :) This is when I wish babies were born with manuals. It's actually gotten A LOT better this last week.
-She's been taking one nap a day lately and going to bed earlier. She's never been a great napper, but she's always been an amazing night sleeper. I'll take the latter!
-She's down to 2 bottles a day and hopefully only one at night and then eventually none- by 17 months I want her off bottles completely. Don't ask me why I chose 17 months, it just seems logical in my brain.
-She learned how to scream when she is bugged, so for about a week that is all she did all day when she wanted something or was upset. I felt like I was taking crazy pills, people! Luckily, it's subsided and under control a little now.
-She loves when people come over. She shows off and flirts like crazy.
-The weather has been so great we love going outside- she cries every time we go back in the house.
-She has to have like 3 toys or books to play with while she eats.

{15 Month Stats}
25 pounds
32 inches long

Every stage is so fun with her. We've enjoyed our little girl SO MUCH! We love you Aubree!!

A Day at the Park

April is THE BEST in St. George!
I love the weather and the feeling of springtime.
Aubree and I have spent a lot of time outside and thought
it would be fun to go to the park with Ashlye and little Kendyl.
These 2 little girls are exactly one week apart. Aubree was a week early
and Kendyl was born on Aubree's due date.
When Ashlye and I first found out we were pregnant, we were
meeting at Cafe Rio (of course) with some of our other besties
for someones birthday. Ash and I were the first ones to arrive and right
when we saw each other we both knew right away the other was pregnant!
We just started laughing really loud and automatically started giving each other
advice haha- that's how we roll.
I hope our little ones become best friends like their mamas!

Other March Highlights

-Happy Birthday Mike and Juli!
Juli is a wonderful mother and grandmother- she makes each grand child feel that they are the greatest invention alive. We are all blessed to call you Mom and Meme :)

-Um, besides Ohio, that is basically it for our other March Highlights.
-Oh, and my old high school drill team review.. I stole this picture off of Kristy's blog. I don't want to sound all super-seniory, but I love these girls and my old coaches. Even though our lives were always and are still extremely different, we went through a lot together and had some amazing times and memories! We're missing Hilary (she was having a cute baby.. kind of a big deal).

-Oh, and St. Patrick's Day too--every year since forever, my mom makes a "green" dinner and we go on a Leprechaun hunt, but we were all in different states on the 17th. My mom celebrates holidays religiously, so it was kind of devastating that we weren't all together.
-We had a great month, but April in St. George is my absolute favorite time of year, so here's to hoping for sunnier weather and a tan.. Ha ha.. a tan. Like I have ever been able to tan.

Spring Break in OHIO 2011

Juli, Ellie, Matt, Me and Aubree Grace were able to go visit the Losee's in Ohio over the break- we had a blast!  Meeting new little Logan was the best!  His baby blessing was given while we were there and we were so glad we could be apart of it. Here's a recap of our week...

{Wednesday}

Our plane left at 7:00 a.m. from Vegas- I was so nervous Aubree would have a hard time but she did amazing on the plane ride. We arrived in Dayton and Jen and little Logan buddy came to pick us up. My heart melted seeing that baby!! I love him! Oh, and we love Jen, too :) We missed the kids so much and were so excited to see Abbie, Drewness and Lainey Lou! That night we just played, talked, ate White Cheddar Cheetos (we went through 3 bags in 5 days.. totally wasn't all me, ok?) and celebrated an early birthday for Juli.

{Thursday}

Ohio is the birthplace of Aviation. The Wright Brothers built and flew their first plane in Dayton. So, we had the opportunity to go to the Airforce Museum. It was HUGE and really cool. We saw replicas of the very first plane ever built all the way to modern aircraft.  I was amazed at how well the kids did there, and all week for that matter. We drug them around everywhere and they did awesome. After that, we went to dinner with the fam at a really fancy restaraunt called Red Lobster :) I love Red Lobster, but in Ohio that's about as fancy as your going to get.

Speaking of fancy, on the way home from the museum, Mark took us to White Castle Burgers. Luckily we didn't go inside because my "are you kidding me-ness" probably would have kicked in. It was interesting, to say the least. The food is brought to you through the drive-thru like your money would be given to you at the bank. The burgers are tiny, steamed with onions and then put on a similarly tiny bun. Matt and Mark at 5 each, I had half of one. It's an acquired taste.

{Friday}

We went to Jungle Jims, the biggest grocery store in the world. You're not allowed to take pictures, but I snuck a few in (the picture of Matt looking mad is him telling me not to put the camera away). They had every food item you could think of! They had isles dedicated to different countries, 2 isles of hot sauce and of course, our favorite, the bakery. Oh and that cheese I'm holding was like, 45 pounds. We bought all sorts of things to try at home.

{Saturday}

We went to an antique place on Saturday. There were a lot of these in Ohio. They are warehouses full of antiques. It was enormous. Everything was really expensive so we just had fun browsing. On our way home, we stopped to eat at another fancy food place, Frich's Big Boy. We saw real live mullets there, ate really greasy food (mine was actually pretty good) and enjoyed people watching. Picture Denny's... but more... country like? Jenny turned to me during lunch and said "Welcome to Ohio Megan." Haha- I shouldn't be rude, but in all honesty, it really is different in the outskirts of Ohio! Later that night we played games and just hung out with each other. We made sure to love on Logan as much as we could before we left. Aubree loved playing with her cousins. They were all so cute!

{Sunday}

Sunday was our last day :( We went to church that morning for Logan's blessing. It was so sweet. Logan is the 10th grandchild of Juli's and he adds so much to all our lives! We loved being with all the kids- they are all so darling and fun! It was not fun leaving, but we really had such a great time and are glad we made some amazing memories! Our flight left at 8:00 p.m. Ohio time and arrived in Vegas at 1:30 a.m.  Oh boy, it was a LONG flight, but once again, Aubree did so good; besides one minor meltdown. We flew on Frontier Airlines and each plane has a different picture of an animal on the tail. The flight attendant gave her normal welcome and told us that we had a lioness and her cub on the plane. I turned to Matt and was like "Matt, there are lions on the plane! How cool is that? I wonder if they are doing a new show in Vegas..." Matt just looked at me and said, "Megan.. seriously? She meant the tail of the plane, that there is a picture of lions on the tail." I guess we all have our blonde moments.. I was with 5 blondes on the trip, what do you expect? :)

Thanks Losee family! We love and miss you!!
