Thanksgiving

We had a great and not so great Thanksgiving weekend... Thanksgiving morning my family's little dog, Roxy got hit by a car and died :(  My sister Maddie saw the whole thing; it was so, so terrible.  She was so attached to that dog.  We were all crying, especially seeing Madison just so sad.  Not a great start, but luckily we had Thanksgiving that kept everyone's mind off of what happened.

We drove to Vegas to my aunt Brenda's house for our traditional Thanksgiving and Christmas gift exchange.  It had been a long time since Matt and I were with the Stanley family and it was so fun to see everyone!  I forgot my camera in Provo but Matt was able to get a few pictures of the day.. Not the best quality (like my camera at home is even better!).

We all went around the room after dinner and told our favorite memory of my grandpa who passed away 10 years ago this year.  It was a quick trip but so fun!
Other activities included shopping (no Black Friday for me, I HATE shopping that day.  I go Friday night when the crowds are gone.  I would rather pay full price for something rather than run around with people threatening to kill me for the last My Little Pony play set,) breakfast with my girlfriends and their families (and new babies that I LOVE!!!) and hanging out with family.  Aubree didn't sleep well at all because she was sick, but all in all, great weekend and so fun to be with our loved ones.
We are THANKFUL for all the wonderful things we enjoy!!

Breaking Dawn

Oh boy...
Saw it opening night with my mom and cute friend Megan.  I had a serious internal conflict about this movie.  I got really defensive when I heard people making fun of it but inside I was squirming because I knew they were right to make fun.
Basically, I loved slash hated it... but I will buy it when it comes out and watch it every day until further notice!  I can't help it!
Favorite part: Honeymoon.  DUUUH.
Least favorite: The wolves echo talking to eachother when they find out Bella is having a vampire baby.

All in all, fun night with the girls!  Matt was so nice and offered to babysit, too.  So thoughtful, right?

All About Aubree

{22 Months}

-We feel that she changes so much every single day!
-She got her 2 year old molars in.. the only hard thing about them was that she didn't
want to eat, but she was pretty good otherwise.  And they hurt too, poor thing.
-She always wants to go to the mall because they have a little play area for little kids.
She says "A mall, mama."  A girl after my own heart.
-She is starting to really like nursery.
-She always wants to play with friends.
-She always talks about her Meme and Tami.  She loves her grandmas.
-She is obsessed with dancing.  We listen to the Tangled songs (and only the Tangled songs
to avoid a meltdown) and dance for a good hour!  I've taught her how to point her toes
and plie and twirl like a ballerina.  Cutest thing ever!
-We are trying to think of fun things to do when the weather is bad.  We have built forts, colored, done finger painting with pudding.. We will have to think of a lot more things to do!
-When the weather is nice, she loves to jump in the leaves that Dad worked so hard raking :)
-She hasn't ever attempted to climb out of her crib.  So we will see about putting her in a big girl bed once she's 2.
-We took her to the Monte Bean museum at BYU a few weeks ago.  It was actually really cool.  They had a ton of real stuffed animals and she loved it.. then got distracted by the stairs :)
-She is such a toddler now and such a blast!  We love the energy and spunk she brings into our family!

Happy Halloween!!

Aubree was Cinderella for Halloween this year.  We had just gotten home from St. George late the night before and didn't really go all out this year.  Aubree looked darling, but hopefully next year we will get a little more festive!  I wish she would have at least worn a bow.. Oh well.  We took her Trick-or-Treating to a few houses.  She loved all the candy people put in her Cinderella purse!

{Note to self: do not try to put make up on a 2 year old again.}

{Matt thought it was so cool someone dressed up as Darth Vader (Vador?)}

{Reaping the rewards}

Hope everyone had a fun Halloween!!

Pumpkins

The Zanders told us about a house in Orem selling a bunch of pumpkins, so we drove up to find us some to carve.  They had a ton and were cheap!  We each picked one out and were excited to start a little tradition with Aubree-- pumpkin carving.

We got home and got everything ready to go.  Matt and I even printed out awesome stencils.

{Aubree Grace LOVED painting her pumpkin!  Hers turned out better than her parents...}

The finished product.  Sad.  While we were carving with our steak knives, I was like "Matt, this isn't very fun."  We both started cracking up because we seriously botched our pumpkins.  Mine wasn't terrible, but still bad.  Matt tried to do a Gears of War carving which obviously didn't turn out haha- next year we will stick to paint or maybe use pumpkin carving knives!

Sundance

After dinner on Sunday, Matt thought it would be fun to go up to Sundance, so we packed up some hot chocolate and drove up the canyon.  We'll have to go again when it's earlier but it was so beautiful and fun to get outside.

{There was a moose like yards away from us!  It was nuts!  Aubree started barking at it
and I got nervous because Matt said they hate people}

I wish I could get better pictures of the mountains and scenery, but it got dark really fast.  Still, nice to be out with our little family!

Witches Night Out

Steph and I had such a blast at at Gardner Village!  We accidentally went twice :) We thought it was Thursday, so we went all dressed up but then saw a flyer saying it was Friday and Saturday.  So naturally, we drove up again.. and so glad we did!  We made hit up all the darling shops and found some fun things!  The decorations were awesome and such a fun way to kick off the holiday season.

Most everyone there was completely decked out and that made it so fun- I had no idea (obviously from how I dressed) that it was that big of deal!  Such cute ideas for next year :)  Thanks for going with me Steph!!
