February Highlights Part 2

One of my old roomates/bestie, Rach, came into town to stay with us!  Matt was out of town so we had ourselves a girls weekend. We got together with some of our other old roomates (I was SO lucky to have amazing roomies.. we still act like we're 19 when we're together; we have a blast!) we went to lunch, shopped, went to a movie, watched chick flicks, shopped some more and went to dinner. I don't have picuteres of everything, but I'm glad Rach at least got some. She was able to come to church with us and then drove back up from the rain to the snow! Aubree and I had so much fun with her and can't wait to play again-- next time we'll come to her, and hopefully it will be sunny :)

February Highlights Part 1

-February is probably my least favorite month b/c the weather is gloomy and nothing too exciting happens, but we have had a blast this time around!

-Happy Birthday to our nieces Lainey Lou, Amanda and Abbie!

- Matt's mission buddy, Dallin Karrin and his wife, Geisa came down a couple weekends ago. Dallin and Matt knew Geisa in Brazil and after they all got home to Utah, Dallin went back to Brazil and married cute Geisa. We had so much fun with them here-- we went to Made in Brazil for dinner, went shooting (my second time ever shooting a gun.. you'd think being married to Matt we would go more), made Brazilian lasagna and real Acai, went bowling and watched movies. We had a great time!

-We celebrated Valentine's Day the Monday after the Karrin's left. Matt wrote me a cheesy beautiful card and we got some fun things. We visited the Stanley family where Aubree got some cute presents from Grammy and Grampy and then we went to Meme's to make chocolate covered strawberries and watched The Bachelor. Matt is kind of hooked now- he's rooting for Emily this season (like every man in the universe isn't.. ) We had a great day of LOVE!

All About Aubree

{13 Months}

- She will sometimes crawl on her hands and feet instead of her knees.. I think it's because her knees hurt after awhile.

-I will start singing "Pat a Cake" and she does all the actions- it's so cute! She'll clap, roll her hands and throw her hands in the air.

-After she turned 1, we had a pretty rough month.. She started teething (4 teeth at a time), then she got sick, got better for about 5 days, started teething again (4 of her molars.. seriously?) and is now coughing and has a runny nose. I can honestly say this has probably been one of the worst months of my life- and obviously hers!! Anyone that has been around me has heard all about it haha. I feel bad because she has been miserable, but I see a light at the end of the tunnel now.

-She loves getting rides on the Wiggle Cart from Aunt Maddie.

-She loves walking when we hold her hands. If she wants to go somewhere, she turns her body and leads the way.

-She says "Bay" (baby), "Hi," Woo" (woof when she sees a dog) and "Meh" (meow when she sees a cat).

-She absolutely loves books. She turns the pages all by herself and anticipates what is next.

-We had a music/dance party at Meme's a couple weeks ago. My brother in law, Mike, is an amazing piano player and Juli brought out all her little musical instruments and the kids jammed out. Aubree loved it. I tried to do the same thing at home and put some music on and gave her some shakers, but I guess it just wasn't good enough; she liked Meme's way better.

-She had her first sleepover at Grammy Tami's house. My mom offered to take her for a night, probably because she saw that I was starting to twitch and pretty much lose it haha- I think Aubree had a blast, I know her granparents, aunts and uncles did.

-We love you so much, Aubree Grace. We can't believe how big you are and all the amazing things you do and are learning!

What we dig..

I thought it would be fun to write about things we're enjoying this year. I love reading old journals or thinking back about things that were "so cool" or stuff that was "in," only to think now how much things change. So this is what we dig...

{We started watching LOST the day after Christmas and we are HOOKED. We aren't huge TV watchers -mostly because we are too cheap to pay for cable- but Matt wanted to start this series and we're already on Season 4. We can't help it.}

{Sawyer is dramatic and mean.. but.. um.. We love him. We meaning I.}

{Matt and his friends in Brian Head mountain biking. I believe they actually did get a couple rides in after their cute photshoot.}

{We finally started reading Harry Potter. We never really had any interest in reading them but are glad we started.}

{The Bachelor. I can't help myself.. I cringe every time I watch it, but watch it I do.}

January Highlights

-Had a blast celebrating Aubree's 1st birthday!

-Went on a hike with the Wiest's on MLK day.

The weather was so nice, we had to get outside.

-Got Aubree some cute new kicks- little Etnies.. I just couldn't help myself.

-Matt played in a show for Carl Caplin's band, "The Hotseat."

They played at a new venue in town and did such a great job!

I was quite impressed with Matt- he was amazing on the drums.

He didn't exactly fit in with his snowboard t-shirt, non-skinny jeans, and Adidas.

(I told him he could borrow my pants but that didn't go over so well.)

-I started teaching a little girl's dance class and have loved it!

-I also got called as Activity Day's advisor and am having a blast- after being

in primary for 3+ years, I was ready for anything.

-We had lots more January birthdays- Happy Birthday Allie, Drewness and Taylor!
