What we dig..

I haven't done this in awhile. I do this just for me because I like looking back and remember what we were into at the time :) Our list as of late...

The Mortal Instruments Series.
My go-to-girl for basically everything, Kelsey, recommended these books for a fun read.
I literally read 4 of the books in two weeks.
The Zander's asked me what it was about and this was our conversation:
Ethan/Steph: So what were these books about?
Me: Basically this girl finds out she's a Shadowhunter and is trying to help her boyfriend, another
Shadowhunter fight demons from the underworld and figure out if they are brother and sister and
if so, conceal their love.
Ethan/Steph: Uh.....
They sound more amazing and not as weird as they seem. Seriously, I loved these books!!

Essie Sand Tropez Nail Polish
I bought this as a birthday present and then bought some for myself. I love, love this color!
The Hunger Games
I have already read these books, but Matt just started and can't put them down, very rare for my always-on-the-go husband. Finally, when the movies come out we won't fight over the fact that it is too girly or too stupid.

Breaking Dawn Trailer
Speaking of fighting over girly/stupid movies, I have to admit that when the first trailer came out I watched it like 14 times. Ok I was exaggerating; only 6. Mostly because I was dying over their honeymoon scenes. HA! I made Matt watch it and he just walked out not saying a word. The trailer was that good I suppose. Nonetheless, can't wait for this movie. Judge me, go ahead.

And finally, 7 Eleven.
Slurpees!! I am so happy I live close to this lovely gas station to relive my childhood.

All About Aubree

{20 Months}

-She is so adorable and fun!
-We love to go the park, go on walks and be outside in this awesome weather.
-Her current new phrase is "That's awesome!" I came home from work the other
day and Matt told Aubree to tell me her new words.. I started crying when she said it.
It was so freaking cute!
-More words she says are pizza, doll, ounge (orange), tay (stuffed animals; kinda weird ha),dance,
jue(juice) and probably more. She loves talking :)
-I thought of some more.. durch (church) and manna (banana).
-This makes me sound like mother of the year... She can get in your face and yell but if you
get mad at her back, she gets so sad. She won't cry but she will look at me like
"Mom don't you love me? Why would you do that?" Makes me think twice about
how I react to her. I want to cry just thinking about it.
-She only wants to sit in big girl chairs to eat. No more booster seat for her.

I am so happy to be Aubree's mother and Matt cannot get enough of her.
He's getting a good taste of motherhood for a few hours a day while I work, but
I could not be happier that Aubree gets to play with her dad and that
he loves it just as much. We love this little girl so much!

{Making a run for it at Build a Bear.. maybe someday I will buy you a $60 bear w/personalized accessories...}

{Why is it she always has food on her face? She has her dad's appetite and mom's attitude. Oh boy}

Hogle Zoo

On Labor Day we went to the zoo with my family. We probably won't go back for awhile-- it was not worth the price and they were missing a lot of animals.. Bummer. But Aubree really enjoyed being outside and seeing the animals that were there :) We made the best of it and had fun and enjoyed being with family!

Birthday!

It was my birthday on Sunday.. it just so happens that me and my little sister, McCall share a birthday!
She turned 18 and I turned 25 (25?!?!) Anyways, my family came up here to celebrate and we had a blast.
I love that McCall and I share our birthday!

{We went to dinner with our family friends, the Earls and Thayers at Cheesecake Factory on Saturday}

{Oh and Kenny Earl shares our exact same birthday, too! The servers didn't believe us when we said 3 birthdays on the same day :)}

{Aubree enjoyed birthday dinner as well.}

On Sunday, we woke up and opened our presents! I will never hate my birthday no matter how old I get; who hates getting presents? We got some fun things and I appreciate the gifts Juli sent as well... I accidentally opened her box 4 days before my birthday. Oops. Thanks Juli!!  And thanks to my cute family!! Oh and thanks to Matt.. even though I bought my presents.

After church we went up to the canyon to do cake and ice cream. My mom made an amazing strawberry cake and we had a great time hanging out!

{Aubree was a big help making the cake}

{Fake blowing out candles}

Thanks to my wonderful family for coming up to celebrate with me!
Happy Birthday McCall (and me:)!

Our Apartment.. from the inside

{The front room}

{Our bedroom}

{Aubree's room}

{Kitchen}

{Bathroom- we can't open the door all the way because we have a storage bin behind the it haha}

Like I've said, I was so dramatic and emotional about the size.. but this little apartment has turned into our home and we are really happy with it! We have been so fortunute to be able to go to school studying what we love, for me to get a job that works perfect with our schedules and to have a home to live in. We are blessed and happy and grateful for the support from our amazing and patient family and friends :)

Other August Highlights

-We have been in Provo for almost 3 weeks now and we are really happy here.
-Matt started school this week and has a crazy schedule but he loves it (as much as one can love school I guess!)
-I got a JOB! I work at a law firm in the afternoons and it's worked perfectly with Matt's school schedule- he can be here to watch Aubree which has been great. Things are working out for us and we are very happy about that and VERY grateful!
-Matt's mom and her best friend, Becky came up here for a high school reunion.. we didn't get to see them much but we did do dinner and a little shopping- it was fun to have them! They remind me so much of me and my friend Ashlye haha.
-That's about all that's new with us this month- life is good and crazy and everything else, but honestly, we wouldn't have it any other way!
-Here are some pictures of what we do best around here...
